What did you last do with your hands?

It might seem trivial, but for 14-year old Fatima, she remembers vividly the last time she used her hands.

"Before I lost my hands I would do so much - I would brush my hair, put on my clothes, go to school, go to my friends' houses and have them come over to mine. I would work and do things for them. These are the things I want to do again when I have my hands back."

Fatima lost her hands in an explosion early on in the civil war. Her family had just finished having people over for dinner, and had just said goodbye, when they heard a loud bang. What happens next, neither Fatima nor her mother, Nafla can remember. Nafla's next memory is running out of the house carrying her bleeding daughter.
