An organization called Who Is Hussain donated clothes to some of our children in celebration of Eid, the festival that marks the end of Ramadan. Free clothes were available to families living close to the drop-off center in Beirut.
Who Is Hussain is a global movement that empowers communities around the world to organize charitable events for the common good. They aim to inspire individuals through the example of Hussain, a 7th century revolutionary leader.
Batoul Iskander, a volunteer at Who Is Hussain, said: “What we are trying to do here is to empower communities to help others to do charitable events, food drives, blood donations, to help the less fortunate in their communities. What we’re trying to do today is the least we can do to give back to those people who had to flee their homes because of war. In this holy month, what we want to do is help them to enjoy this Eid, enjoy this holiday, with a little bit of a smile. We want to help them forget what they are suffering all the time.”
Mahmoud’s son, Hadi, was one of the recipients of new clothes. We treated Hadi for clubfoot and his Dad spoke about how much Hadi has improved. He’s now over a year old and walking without pain. His Dad said of the clothes donation from Who Is Hussain: “INARA invited us as there is a clothes giveaway for Eid. God bless. I hope that God rewards them for doing such good things.”
